Why should I buy Holistic Hemp Extracts?

There are a multitude of “CBD companies” in the marketplace. Choosing which product to use can be daunting. Many make false claims and there is no regulation or oversight so it is almost impossible to know what you are really getting in your bottle. At Holistic Hemp Extracts, we believe in full transparency. What separates us from the pack is the fact that we are part of the State of Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s pilot program enabling us to legally bring a whole plant extract to your door no matter where you live. If a company is not participating in a pilot program, they cannot legally ship a full spectrum product across state lines. What is CBD?

CBD, or Cannabidiol, was discovered in 1940 by a chemist who graduated from Harvard University, Roger Adams. CBD is a chemical compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant (marijuana and hemp). It is one of the 113 cannabinoids now known to be found in this miraculous plant and compromises upwards of 40% of the hemp plant’s extract. CBD is believed to have significant medical benefits and according to the World Health Organization, it is considered safe. According to US Government patent US6630507B1, “Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties…” “This property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of a wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment.

What does Full Spectrum mean?

When hemp oil is referred to as “Full Spectrum” it contains all cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and all of the 400 plus compounds found in the hemp plant. This can only be achieved by using the whole plant. Only a full spectrum product can initiate the Entourage Effect in your body which is the full activation of your Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is the master controller (hormone levels, inflammation and pain modulation) and allows your body to come back into balance naturally (homeostasis).

Cannabidiol or Whole plant extract? What do I choose?

A groundbreaking study has documented the superior therapeutic properties of whole plant CBD-rich extract as compared to CBD Isolate. Israel conducted a study in 2014 to compare the clinical use of CBD isolate to whole plant extract in its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. They found that CBD isolate showed a bell-shaped dose-response curve, meaning that when the amount of CBD exceeded a certain point its therapeutic impact declined dramatically. Whole plant extract, on the other hand, caused a direct, dose-dependent inhibition of pain and inflammation. This means that with an increased dose there was an increased response, making the whole plant extracts ideal for clinical uses.

Will this make me high?

Neither CBD or Whole plant extract will make you high. The one and only cannabinoid found in Cannabis, THC is responsible for the intoxicating effect of marijuana. CBD is an isolate and contains no THC. Whole plant hemp extract does contain some THC but at levels less than .3% which cannot make you high.

Can you give it to pets?

Will I fail a drug test?

The levels of THC found in Whole plant extracts must be equal to or less than .3% according to the guidelines of the pilot program mandated by Section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill. Although it is unlikely, we cannot guarantee that you will not test positive on a random drug test for THC.
